Reporting To: Cell Leader (Machinist)
Work Schedule: Onsite – Tewkesbury, GBR
Shift: Permanent nights
Training: Completed on day or AM shift during probation.
Key Responsibilities- Setup and operate a range of Sliding Head Lathes
- Engage in daily problem‑solving and assist in driving enhancements to the manufacturing processes
- Carry out inspection checks using a variety of manual and automated metrology equipment
- Conduct self‑inspections and complete necessary quality audits to obtain self‑certification inspection stamps
- Work from approved engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation, accurately recording required data
- Adopt and implement lean manufacturing principles in line with Moog’s standards
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery as per company policy
- A minimum of 3 years experience setting Sliding Head lathes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work to extremely tight tolerances and have a perfectionist’s mentality to quality
- Proficient in inspecting components with diverse manual and automated metrology equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Demonstrate daily problem‑solving skills and overcome challenges through the effective use of your own initiative
- The ability to read and interpret a range of different manufacturing drawings for complex components working in both metric and imperial
