Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a full‑time Senior NPI Engineer to join our established engineering team within the Product Development department at our Tewkesbury, UK facility. Candidates must have eight years of aerospace engineering experience, a working understanding of airworthiness requirements, and ideally awareness of EASA Part 21 regulations.

You will be responsible for leading or supporting complex technical assignments or programmes, acting as the engineering focal point for design and analysis activities. This work involves high‑pressure hydraulic components with lightly damped mechanical assemblies, requiring a strong understanding of hydraulic performance. You will guide the evolution of conceptual design, technical project planning, cost estimates, detail design, and development testing. The role requires occasional travel and the organization of presentations to customers. It is highly varied but biases towards component design, performance validation, and project planning. It is suited for an individual with proven problem‑solving skills in project engineering who is ready to tackle new challenges.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Skills and Experience

  • Perform engineering tasks across a product development process (APQP).
  • Understand customer specifications and translate requirements into compliance statements and validation test procedures.
  • Coordinate and support development test work in validating product performance (typical tests: static, fatigue, vibration, thermal, fluid dynamics).
  • Write reports, present, and communicate technical work to engineers and non‑technical individuals both internally and externally.
  • Apply problem‑solving skills and familiarity with 8D and DMAIC methods.
  • Ensure successful completion of tasks and projects within budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Take ownership of difficult technical problems and provide solutions.
  • Review technical feasibility of proposed solutions and lead trade study activities to gather required evidence.
  • Provide technical leadership within programmes and assignments.
  • Delegate tasks clearly while maintaining responsibility for the quality of delivered work packages.
  • Act as an ambassador to the company, balancing commercial positioning with safety and integrity.
  • Make disposition statements against production hardware in line with airworthiness requirements and EASA Part 21 regulations.
  • Have eight or more years of aerospace experience.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Mechanical engineering experience and training.
  • Problem‑solving and investigation skills.
  • Familiarity with Mathcad Prime.
  • Proficiency in numerical analysis software.
  • Advanced MS Office user (focus on MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel).
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings, working knowledge of GD&T requirements, and experience with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX or equivalent.
  • Analysis and report checking, signatory rights in previous positions would be desirable.
  • Understanding of project management and MS Project.
  • Knowledge and understanding of aerospace materials and the impact of manufacturing processes on component strength and cost.
  • Leadership and mentoring qualities to influence, support, and empower junior engineers.
  • A degree in engineering is essential.

Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. If clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
