Omega is proud to be partnering with Moog Commercial Aircraft Group to secure a Senior Staff Software Engineer to step into this fantastic position. In this role you will lead the development of software for advanced flight control and actuation systems, working closely with Systems and Electronics Engineering counterparts to deliver important milestones. You will need to have deep expertise in safety-critical software development and real-time embedded systems. This is a new role, that will require a proactive and driven individual, to take charge from the offset, and operate in this senior technical role.
Duties:
- Technical Leadership: Define software architecture and technical strategy for flight control and actuation systems.
- System Design: Develop real-time embedded software for actuation systems and flight control computers.
- Integration: Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with actuation products.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to aerospace standards such as DO-178C and ARP4754A throughout the development lifecycle.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers, promoting best practices in safety-critical software development.
- Quality Assurance: Drive rigorous verification and validation processes for mission-critical software.
Background:
- Bachelor’s or master’s level education.
- Significant experience in aerospace or safety-critical systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Experience with writing software for flight control electronics.
- Expertise in deterministic, fault-tolerant systems.
- Understanding of DO-178C certification and related aviation standards.
- Happy to travel for business purposes (US, China, Across UK).
