Join Moody’s Insurance Solutions Graduate Program in Model Development, where you will be part of a transformative journey in understanding and managing risk. As a graduate, you will engage with a diverse cohort starting in September 2026, participating in a month-long training program that equips you with essential skills and knowledge. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to quantify the loss potential from extreme climate events, conducting research on their impacts, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of modeling products. You will gain hands-on experience through rotations across different development teams, enhancing your technical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hazard, vulnerability, exposure, and financial modelers to assess the potential losses from extreme climate events.
  • Conduct research and development focused on the effects of extreme climate events on buildings and the built environment, including various weather phenomena.
  • Participate in a month-long training program upon joining, followed by rotations across different teams to gain comprehensive knowledge of products and their applications.
  • Enhance technical, problem-solving, and communication skills through hands-on experience in model development.

Requirements

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant field such as Structural, Mechanical, or Geotechnical Engineering, Applied Mathematics related to Building Science, or Computer Science, to be completed by September 2026.
  • Strong foundation in engineering analysis and design principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to model development, including R, Python, Julia, SQL, and Fortran, with a willingness to learn new languages as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively convey analysis results.
  • Strong time management and planning abilities, demonstrating commitment to delivering results.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
