Skills and Competencies

  • Deep subject matter expertise in tax administration, tax investigations, customs valuation, transfer pricing, public revenue risk management, and compliance enforcement.
  • Strong ability to act as a trusted advisor, translating complex tax, regulatory, financial, and investigative concepts into clear business value for tax authorities, customs agencies, and ministries of finance.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior government officials, auditors, policymakers, and public-sector leaders.
  • Proven strategic and analytical mindset, capable of identifying emerging compliance trends, regulatory developments, revenue risks, and opportunities to improve enforcement outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting discovery, qualification, solution design, and complex public-sector sales opportunities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, product management, customer success, and cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.
  • Thought leadership capability, including public speaking, industry advocacy, training delivery, content creation, and internal sales enablement within tax and customs environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, data analytics, and risk assessment technologies, with the ability to apply AI responsibly to support tax compliance, investigations, and operational efficiency.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Tax qualification or relevant professional certification are beneficial.
  • Additional qualifications in customs, accounting, law, public administration, or related disciplines are beneficial.
  • 15+ years of experience in tax administration, customs, revenue authorities or related environments.

Responsibilities

  • This client-facing role is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor during the sales cycle, establishing credibility and confidence in Moody’s solutions supporting Tax Authorities, Customs Agencies, and Ministries of Finance.
  • Supporting discovery, qualification, and solution design by aligning Moody’s data, analytics, and AI capabilities with tax administration, customs compliance, and revenue authority use cases.
  • Demonstrating how Moody’s solutions can strengthen tax investigations, audit selection, transfer pricing reviews, customs valuation assessments, fiscal risk management, and compliance programmes.
  • Elevating workshops, RFPs, and Proof of Concept engagements by applying industry best practices and real-world expertise in tax administration and enforcement.
  • Partnering with sales, marketing, and product teams to shape and execute effective go-to-market strategies, thought leadership initiatives, and market outreach activities.
  • Leading strategic discussions with tax authorities, customs agencies, ministries of finance, and other public-sector stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on compliance and revenue optimisation challenges.
  • Guiding customers on applying Moody’s solutions to identify compliance risks, investigate related-party relationships, detect irregularities, and improve revenue collection outcomes.
  • Actively gathering and translating market, regulatory, and customer feedback to inform future product capabilities, innovation priorities, and solution development.
  • Providing internal enablement and training on tax authority workflows, investigative use cases, compliance trends, and public-sector buying considerations while supporting industry events and stakeholder engagement activities.
