Overview

In this role you will support Moody's Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs strategy for the EMEA region, engaging with regulators, governments and industry groups. You will help expand insurance regulatory coverage, prepare strategic materials, and contribute to thought leadership that shapes Moody's regulatory stance. You will work across Legal, Compliance and Communications to ensure commercially informed positions while advancing AI and digital finance initiatives. This is an opportunity to influence policy at a global scale within a leading risk and ratings organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the SVP in managing relationships with EMEA regulators, governments, trade associations, and other third parties; analyze and expand insurance regulatory coverage in the region
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and background research for senior external meetings; represent Moody's at industry forums and events as appropriate
  • Identify engagement opportunities with officials and stakeholders shaping the EMEA regulatory landscape; propose engagement strategies
  • Contribute to thought leadership and policy briefing documents that advance Moody's objectives in the EMEA region
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Communications and business lines to ensure regulatory positions are commercially informed and aligned
  • Support cross-regional initiatives and broader insurance regulatory affairs efforts within the Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs team
  • Share regulatory insights and participate in cross-regional coordination to support the global team

Key requirements

  • Minimum 7 years in financial services policy, regulation, government affairs or related field
  • Experience drafting consultation responses, policy papers, regulatory filings or equivalent analytical work
  • Strong written and verbal English communication, ability to distill complex policy issues into concise briefings
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various seniority levels
  • Well-organised with ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with credit rating agency regulation, capital markets policy or related financial services frameworks (preferred)
  • Familiarity with insurance regulatory issues (preferred)
  • Existing network within government, regulatory or industry circles (preferred)
  • Proven proficiency with AI concepts and hands-on use of AI tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency; growing awareness of AI risk management and ethical AI use
