Who we are

Moody’s is a brand new, independent neighbourhood hangout in the heart of Hagley village, initially bringing together specialty coffee, craft beer, cocktails, wine and shortly after, casual dining options focusing on brunch-style options and really good pizza. At Moody’s, we’re all about doing things differently — we source the best products from our favourite independent suppliers, bringing a fresh take to the usual experience.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone to oversee the daily operations at Moody’s and will treat it as their own — someone ready to make a real impact and work with us to create something unique. This role requires a proactive approach to managing staff, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving the overall success of the business. We’re looking for a General Manager who…

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum 2 years proven experience as a General/Senior Assistant Manager or similar leadership role in a high-energy hospitality venue
  • Good knowledge of food, drinks and industry trends
  • Ideally a fully trained, kick-ass barista and experienced in bartending
  • A good understanding of managing a commercial kitchen and achieving a 5H with the EHO as well as internal audits
  • If not already, have the ability to become a personal license holder
  • Level 2 in food safety (preferred) to be able to oversee food preparation processes and ensure quality and adherence to food safety regulations
  • Supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Manage inventory levels and order supplies as necessary to maintain operational efficiency
  • Ability to drive sales and manage budgets effectively. The confidence and skill to deliver on all KPIs
  • Full understanding of Health and Safety/Food Safety management systems
  • Naturally passionate about delivering an awesome guest experience and leads by example
  • A good understanding of current HR responsibilities in an ever-changing workplace
  • Passionate about training and developing your team so they work with you and not for you
  • Hands-on, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to drive and have use of a car
