Skills and Competencies
  • Understanding of Moody’s NewsEdge offerings and the specific business concerns facing our clients
  • Strong understanding of software solutions typically utilized in the corporate landscape such as CRMs, ERPs, procure to pay, and lead to cash solutions
  • Customer facing experience with comfort leading sales calls and engaging directly with clients, product teams, and sales teams
  • Sales mentality and commercial mindset with a strong drive to win new customers
  • Demonstrated experience in technical sales including data and SAAS solutions, with exposure to complex sales cycles considered a plus
  • Proven ability to analyze business processes and workflows, with a knack for identifying efficiency improvements
  • Interest in learning or experience with Spark, SQL, Python for API development is highly encouraged, but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
Responsibilities

A Solution Specialist plays a crucial role in driving the pre-sales function for Europe/Africa Territory, designed to help our customers decode risk and unlock opportunity. Solutions Specialists are responsible for understanding news specific workflows and aligning Moody’s solutions to meet their needs, in addition to demonstrating and showing the value of Moody’s solutions through proof-of-concepts, demos and evaluations. Main responsibilities include:

  • Support sales colleagues and internal stakeholders to drive the pre-sales process from qualification to solution alignment
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of client workflows, processes, and business requirements, including customer meetings and gathering sample data
  • Understand and map Moody’s solutions to client needs, demonstrating subject matter expertise and alignment to business challenges
  • Demonstrate the value of Moody’s solutions through product demos, proof of concepts, trial evaluations, and data analysis
  • Develop custom solutions where required, leveraging Moody’s portfolio of data assets and software solutions
  • Work closely with product and technical teams to understand architecture, capabilities, and integration across Moody’s offerings
  • Act as a bridge between clients and product development teams, conveying feedback to support product enhancements and roadmap discussions

This position offers a dynamic work environment, requiring up to 50% travel to engage with clients face-to-face, while also providing the flexibility of hybrid working.
