Responsibilities

The Industry Practice Lead – Tax & Customs Administration is a senior practitioner role focused on supporting Tax Authorities, Customs Agencies, and Ministries of Finance in leveraging Moody’s solutions to strengthen tax investigations, customs valuation, transfer pricing compliance, and fiscal risk management.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in tax investigation workflows, including case targeting, audit selection, and evidence gathering.
  • Demonstrate how Moody’s data and analytics can be used to detect irregularities, assess related-party risks, and support tax audit decisions.
  • Guide tax and customs officials on using Moody’s tools in the context of compliance reviews, valuation challenges, and transfer pricing audits.
  • Partner with Sales Teams to deliver technical demos, workshops, and Proofs of Concept tailored to tax enforcement and customs compliance use cases.
  • Lead strategic conversations with public-sector stakeholders, including audit teams and policy departments.
  • Provide hands-on input to help structure proposals, align solutions with mandates, and increase public-sector win rates.
  • Deliver structured feedback to Product teams on tax-specific needs such as investigation support, audit trail documentation, and jurisdictional risk profiling.
  • Support Marketing in building precise, outcome-driven messaging for tax risk assessment and enforcement applications.
  • Train internal teams on common tax investigation scenarios and public-sector workflows.

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep, practical expertise in international taxation, tax investigation, customs valuation, transfer pricing, and public revenue risk management.
  • Experience working within or advising government agencies on tax audits, compliance strategies, and enforcement.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to translate complex financial data into investigation-ready insights.
  • Excellent communication abilities; comfortable working with tax officials, auditors, and senior government representatives.
  • Experience in presenting case examples, training tax officials, or supporting major audits is highly valued.

Education

  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Tax certification required; customs credentials a plus.
