Responsibilities
The Financial Data Analysts role provides an opportunity to make a significant contribution towards the success of the ratings teams through support in financial analysis and discrete projects. FDAs primarily support Corporate Finance and Infrastructure Lines of Business:
- The FDA uses accounting and finance knowledge and judgement to perform financial statement analyses, adjust reported data per relevant methodology requirements and analyze ratios
- Work directly with ratings and support analysts to explain data, adjustments and other information needed by the rating team
- Liaise with analysts, knowledge managers and accounting specialists to understand the application of accounting concepts on a particular entity
- Review, adjust and publish data to external market participants
- Work on technology projects, accounting changes, documentation updates and implementation of process improvements
- FDA position provides an opportunity to foster skills required for any future career in the financial sector
About the team
The Data & Analytics team consists of a diverse set of Financial Data Analysts (FDAs) supporting Banking, Insurance, Corporate Finance, Sovereign, Public Finance and Structured Finance Lines of Business. The teams are located in Vilnius, London, Bangalore, New York, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, and Tokyo in order to support Analysts based in EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific. FDAs contribute towards the financial analysis part of the rating process which has a significant impact on any given rating.
