Skills And Competencies

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (word, outlook, excel etc)
  • Good organisation, attention to detail, problem solving and verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required, including excellent reading skills.
  • Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT: N2 Level or above) is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Previous experience with corporate or financial databases is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and add real-time news into our M&A historical database via our internal software.
  • With the help of an aggregated news service and via primary internet research you will download, research, prioritise and process all news articles relating to your area/specialism.
  • Improve existing processes and procedures to enhance the speed and accuracy of our product.
  • Expand existing data offering research on regional regulations and new sources of data.
  • Create and update regional documentation, such as internal procedures, news collection methods, definitions, and download processes to ensure standardisation amongst research teams.
  • Maintain productivity standards by efficient individual timekeeping and following research processes.
  • Maintain quality standards by contributing to peer‑to‑peer checking procedures.

The Data Estate division is the commercial data business of Moody’s Analytics, bringing together a vast catalogue of data to help business decision-makers assess risks and opportunities. We are best known for Orbis, the world’s most comprehensive database of public and private companies. We are also the definitive source of ratings‑related data for companies and securities that have been rated by Moody’s Investors Service. We strive to deliver convenience and insight to our customers by eliminating the hassle of sourcing, preparing and accessing data, adding value when decisions need to be made. This role is responsible for gathering and summarising Mergers & Acquisitions information and updating our database, available online to subscribers. You will be assigned a geographical coverage or area of specialism where you will search and document information on data points related to each M&A deal, including but not limited to deal type, payment methods, deal values, deal participants, sources, dates and statuses. While the role may include specific projects or client queries assigned to you by your manager, this is not a customer facing role.
