• 4+ years of experience designing and deploying scalable backend systems; experience with metering, telemetry, or observability systems is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in C++, C#, or Java and deep understanding of Agile and Test-Driven Development.
• 2+ years of experience with public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and building cloud-native services.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of influencing technical decisions across teams.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming data pipelines.
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency.
• Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
• Experience with time-series data modelling or analytics, Kafka, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or usage-based billing systems.
• Passion for building dashboards, alerts, and usage metrics for observability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field required.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant discipline is a plus.

• Design and implement scalable metering systems that enable usage-based billing, product insights, and operational visibility across Moody’s SaaS platforms.
• Build scalable, cloud-native metering pipelines that power usage tracking, analytics, and billing.
• Write efficient, maintainable code that processes telemetry and time-series data in real time.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and platform teams to shape architecture and deliver integrated solutions.
• Guide junior engineers, set technical direction, and champion best practices in system design and observability.
• Take end-to-end ownership—from instrumentation and testing to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Deliver systems that drive both internal innovation and customer value.

Our Platform Engineering team builds the foundation that powers all of Moody’s Analytics. The Metering team focuses on large-scale usage tracking systems that enable accurate billing, actionable product analytics, and real-time operational insights. We contribute to Moody’s by delivering systems that support usage-based billing and product visibility. We enable data-driven decisions across internal teams and customer platforms. We partner closely with stakeholders to deliver technology that moves the business forward.
