Read and interpret A/V systems drawings.
Attend commissioning coordination meetings as needed with owner, project management, and contractor teams as defined in the commissioning plan.
Use computer devices to configure, deploy and assist debugging of control systems and digital signal processors (DSPs) and/or other A/V systems installed on client sites both from a remote and on-site perspective.
Develop a project specific training agenda and manage the systems training of owner’s representatives.
Generate electronic commissioning documentation to be used in the commissioning report.
Compile project documentation and submit to project manager in preparation for client delivery.
Travel to client sites as needed to support and supervise the final portions of the system installations and/or provide on-site project management on more complex and lengthy projects that require multiple visits during installation and construction phases.
Communicate concerns to appropriate parties and oversee project resolution.
Perform or oversee final physical wiring connections on high-end electronic devices and/or head end devices/systems.
Verify the control system installation and functional performance are per company standards, industry best practices, and the contract documents.
Verify the system performance and operation, including establishing acceptance criteria, obtaining completed reports from the installing vendor, and direct performing testing and verification.
Investigate, evaluate and troubleshoot installed system operations.
Create, track, and complete a project punch list.
Review system as-built documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Required Travel: 50%+ depending on market and project needs.
Preferred certification or licenses: CTS, CTS-I and/or CTS-D.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of audio and video technologies, signal flow, signal types, and interconnect standards.
- Advanced knowledge of audio & video systems with abilities to design, troubleshoot, install, program, debug, commission, train and/or repair.
- Strong knowledge of commercial Audiovisual systems design and documentation.
- Advanced computer skills with programming and debugging experience.
- Specific experience programming, debugging and commissioning experience with A/V systems (Control system, DSP, and more) including but not limited to.
- Strong knowledge of network configurations, internet protocol and network.
- Ability to read architectural, electrical, lighting, telecommunications and mechanical drawings.
- Background or experience in managing construction projects.
