MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400 + strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes – from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.
Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA, as well as East Providence, RI and Denver, CO.
We’re making new and exciting things – and we could really do with your help.
You will be an essential part of the Quality and Engineering Team in our Dagenham facility. Our purpose is to proactively safeguard the quality of MOO's production, ensuring our print and digital products consistently meet high standards. We drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, significantly reduce waste, and ultimately provide an exceptional Customer experience. We are a multidisciplinary team focused on precision, problem-solving, and process excellence.
MOO is seeking a driven, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Quality Technician. This role is a critical piece of our operation, ensuring that the excellence we promise our customers is delivered in every product. You will be the frontline guardian of our quality standards, responsible for collecting and analyzing production data, working with Manufacturing to address quality findings, troubleshooting file issues, conducting audits, and supporting engineering trials including new material and machine qualifications and troubleshooting. Your value to the business lies in your ability to identify, contain, and solve quality problems before they impact our customers, directly contributing to MOO's reputation for high-quality, delightful products and supporting our continuous improvement goals. We are hiring now to strengthen our quality focus as we scale our production and introduce new, exciting products.
You are a proactive and meticulous individual with a strong foundation in quality assurance principles. You thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment and can efficiently manage multiple priorities under pressure. You have a natural curiosity and an investigative approach to problem-solving, always looking to understand the 'why' behind an issue rather than just fixing the symptom. You are a clear communicator, able to coach and collaborate with production team members to elevate the collective quality standard. If you are passionate about precision, driven by continuous improvement, and ready to use data to make informed decisions, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Material Inspection and New Material Qualification: Perform Incoming Material Inspection according to the established Control Plan to ensure raw materials meet specifications. Perform engineering trials to test and validate that new materials and suppliers conform to our quality and capability standards
  • Troubleshoot and Remediate Files: Proactively troubleshoot and correct print file issues using software like Adobe Photoshop to maintain quality and production flow
  • Ensure Process Compliance: Conduct regular process audits on the production floor to ensure all teams are complying with documented quality standards and procedures
  • Collect and Analyze Quality Data: Gather data on critical processes, and perform analyses to understand paretos, trends, and shifts in order to highlight areas in need of corrective action
  • Manage Non-Conforming Product: Administrate and execute containment and rework actions for poor-quality and non-conforming products (e.g., QC Hold inventory)
  • Perform Engineering Trials: Work with the US and UK teams to execute and report on a range of engineering trials to test and validate new equipment, new processes, new product launches, or process changes to improve quality and capability
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Actively support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and clearly escalate potential production risks or process gaps to production leadership
  • Provide Quality Support: Deliver responsive quality service support for rush requests and specialized orders that require extra quality control checks

About You:

  • Data Proficiency: Proficient using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and charting to define quality trends and using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for documentation and presentation
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively relay complex quality issues, audit findings, engineering test results/recommendations and coaching points across different teams
  • Technical Aptitude: Experience with basic troubleshooting or file correction, ideally using tools like Adobe Photoshop. Basic understanding of setting up, executing and reporting on engineering tests or trials
  • You do not accept the first piece of information, instead, you present an investigative approach to get to the root cause of quality issues, leveraging data and collaboration with others
  • You are confident in making decisions based on thorough research and documented facts, and you can identify risks, make appropriate mitigation decisions and keep key stakeholders informed
  • You are skilled at multitasking and working effectively under pressure to meet tight production deadlines and are able to suggest improvements on innovation and ways of working
  • You are able to clearly explain the 'why' behind quality standards to co-workers, actively sharing knowledge and providing guidance and constructive feedback to support others' performance

Nice to Haves

  • Previous experience in a dedicated Quality Control role within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience managing QC Hold inventory and/or leading Material Review Board (MRB) meetings
  • Certification for CSSYB-Six Sigma Yellow Belt or other Quality Improvement Certifications
  • Experience with data reporting and analysis software such as Tableau and Minitab
