The Role
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing a range of customers, including major multiple accounts such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons as well as export customers, B2B and wholesalers.
Reporting to the Site Director, you will drive the sales performance of the business across all channels. You will take the lead on developing and executing sales strategies, delivering against growth targets, and unlocking new customers. You will also manage and mentor the Business Development Manager and the Category and Commercial Executive.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for sales and building brand equity with full P&L accountability. There is an element of own label product supply so experience in managing these relationships would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the existing relationships with major multiple retailers.
- Effectively negotiate commercial contracts and JBPs (where appropriate) whilst understanding how commercial decisions impact the rest of the business.
- Identify untapped opportunities to expand market share and increase brand visibility.
- Create and execute the future annual sales plans.
- Work closely with Brand Manager, NPD and the Revenue Growth Manager to create strong product and promotional plans.
- Create compelling sell-in stories for branded and private label propositions.
- Effectively manage branded and private label product launches. Ensuring all business functions are aligned to customers’ expectations and timings.
- Effectively coach and manage the Business development manager. Setting KPI’s and ensuring targets are reached.
- Analyse and report sales data to maximise product performance and uncover new opportunities for growth.
- Full P&L responsibility.
