Position Summary: Reporting to the Technical Director the NPD Manager will lead the development and innovation of new chocolate products, ensuring they align with Moo Free\’s ethical standards and meet market demands. This role involves managing the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Lead the creation of innovative, dairy-free, and vegan chocolate products that align with Moo Free\’s brand values and customer expectations.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple NPD projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities for new products.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production, marketing, sales, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless product development and launch.
- Supplier Relations: Source and manage relationships with suppliers of raw materials and packaging, ensuring they meet Moo Free\’s ethical and quality standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all new products comply with relevant food safety regulations and certifications.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainable practices in product development, including the use of eco-friendly packaging and ethically sourced ingredients.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Science, Product Development, or a related field, preferred.
- Experience working with chocolate, including formulation, tempering and production processes preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years\’ experience in product development within the food industry, preferably in confectionery or dairy-free products.
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of bringing new products to market.
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations, quality assurance processes and BRC standard.
- Experience of working with UK retailers own label.
- Creative thinker with the ability to innovate while adhering to brand values and ethical standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
