- Our Product team
We're waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.
Over the last 10 years, Monzo has grown from a prepaid card into a much broader range of products, including personal and business bank accounts, joint accounts, accounts for 16 - 17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards - with plenty more to come.
Product is at the heart of Monzo's long-term success and our ambition to change people's relationship with money.
Working closely with Engineering, Design, Research, Data and teams across the business, our Product team sets Monzo's product vision and strategy and drives its execution.
We're a scaling team with lots to accomplish and some big questions to answer.
As Chief of Staff to our Chief Product Officer, you'll work closely with our CPO and Product Leadership Team, helping shape our product vision and strategy, seed new initiatives and build effective ways of working that help our Product organisation thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Helping formulate and drive key projects for our Chief Product Officer, from structuring our product roadmap and setting organisational goals to evolving our product strategy.
- Leading strategic and ad-hoc projects for the CPO and Product Leadership Team, including initiatives that improve how effectively and quickly our teams can deliver.
- Staying close to our performance data, understanding the underlying drivers and creating a regular cadence for reporting, including coordinating our monthly business reviews.
- Collaborating across Monzo to unblock complex challenges around priorities, dependencies and headcount, and helping teams make better decisions when there are competing priorities and stakeholders.
- Conceiving, executing and supporting initiatives across Product team engagement, performance management and discipline progression.
- Making sure our CPO is brilliantly prepared for key meetings and interactions with regulators, investors, journalists, Board members and employee forums.
- Preparing and sharing major communications, and at times representing the CPO in key forums across Monzo.
- What we are looking for
- You're comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity, and you're great at turning complexity into clarity.
- You're an excellent project manager who can move comfortably between strategic priorities and tactical execution, keeping the important details on track.
- You're highly analytical and quantitative, comfortable working with spreadsheets, Looker or similar tools, and use data to inform decisions wherever possible.
- You're brilliant at collaboration and stakeholder management.
You can thoughtfully challenge others, build alignment and act as a bridge between Product, Engineering, Design, Data and senior leadership.
- You have experience in Product, a high-growth company or the technology sector, and you're excited by the challenges that come with scaling a Product organisation.
- You're a curious, proactive problem solver and excellent communicator who enjoys context switching, takes initiative and knows how to focus yourself and others on the highest-leverage work.
- What's in it for you
- £100,000 - £150,000 + Incentive Awards tied to your performance.
- This role is based in our London office and will require you to be in the office 2-3 days a week.
- We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, and at times that suit you and your team.
- £1,000 learning budget each year to use on books, training courses and conferences.
- We will set you up to work from home; all employees are given Mac Books.
