Overview
We are hiring a Sales Account Executive for Monzo’s UK business banking team. This role focuses on SMB prospects, guiding them through their buying journey, activating their Monzo business accounts, and delivering a personalised banking experience for high-value customers. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a base salary plus OTE and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective SMB customers through discovery calls to understand their business, challenges, goals and requirements.
- Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to demos and sales, ensuring successful account activation.
- Present Monzo’s business banking offerings clearly, helping customers evaluate what works best for them.
- Become a product expert on Monzo’s business banking products, features and services.
- Manage a pipeline with strong data hygiene: timely follow-ups, accurate forecasting, and deal tracking.
- Drive activation by ensuring new business customers are fully set up and actively using Monzo for their banking needs.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, risk and customer operations to ensure a smooth customer journey.
- Deliver outstanding service across phone, video, email and digital channels.
- Achieve sales targets related to conversion, activations, revenue and engagement as defined by leadership.
- Capture and share customer feedback to inform product improvements and address pain points.
- Adapt and iterate in a fast-changing environment and support what comes next.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Experience in Small Business sales, preferably selling business solutions or financial services; able to engage business customers and understand their needs and pain points.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a performance-driven environment.
- Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to activation, with structured outreach and cross-team coordination.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build relationships with customers from diverse backgrounds.
- Strategic communicator who can build trust and help customers discover value; consultative, good listener with insightful questions.
- Adaptable, resilient and comfortable with change; maintains a winning mindset.
- Clear communication: written, verbal, and video; capable of simplifying complex topics.
- Coachable and open to constructive feedback for continuous learning.
- Thrives in a fast-moving, high-change environment where definitions may be evolving.
- Strong personal organisation: pipeline tracking, time management, prioritising leads and follow-ups.
