We are waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking. After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.

Our Public Policy Team is growing fast, from being a UK bank to operating a tech and financial services group with a truly international footprint. To support this growth, our Public Policy squad shapes an ambitious policy agenda, driving government relations engagement.
As a member of this team, your primary focus will be supporting our work in the UK, while also contributing to our emerging international policy initiatives. You will work closely with teams across the company, supporting in the delivery of strategies on a diverse range of issues, including our four key policy categories: corporate and prudential, product, financial inclusion and vulnerability, and AI and tech.
You will play a key role by:
- Helping the team to identify, monitor and analyse key policy issues affecting Monzo, and working with internal stakeholders to identify policy objectives that complement our mission.
- Preparing policy analysis, research and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting with writing formal responses to relevant consultations and other requests.
- Helping the team develop key relationships with policy makers, industry groups, consumer groups and nonāgovernmental organisations (NGOs).
- Helping build our expertise and views on a range of policy and social impact issues, and advocating for change which helps us achieve our mission.
- Partnering with organisations who share our aims by pooling our expertise, resources and voice.
- Where appropriate, leading our policy development in areas like financial inclusion and regulation.
What You Will Be Involved In:
- Keeping up to date with the latest political and regulatory developments.
- Delving into complex tech and financial services policy problems to highlight key issues for Monzo, and our customers.
- Advocating for regulatory or legislative changes that make money work for everyone to a variety of audiences.
- Using user research, internal, and external data to create evidenceābased policy recommendations.
- Helping to manage stakeholder relationships across Government, regulators, trade bodies and the third sector.
- Enthusiastically engaging with the team, Collective, or disciplineālevel initiatives to help, bringing about positive change.
- Identifying opportunities to help broaden internal and industry stakeholder networks.
We would love to hear from you if:
- You are passionate about Monzo, our mission, and you want to drive positive impact and change for our customers.
- You have around 3 to 5 years experience working in policy, whether as part of a policy team, a public affairs team, regulator, a think tank or similar.
- Experience in financial services or tech policy is a bonus, but not essential.
- You are a selfāstarter, and comfortable with the speed of execution.
- You love taking the initiative and driving things forward at pace, without being told what to do.
