Experteer Overview In this role you will integrate macroeconomic insights with Monzo's strategic risk framework to inform executive decision-making. You'll build and maintain dashboards that fuse internal data with external signals, strengthening risk oversight across markets. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate complex trends clearly and improve risk processes. This is a high-visibility position at the heart of Monzo's strategic risk evolution, offering impactful work that shapes risk governance and the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing operation of Monzo's strategic risk oversight and framework processes
- Develop strategic risk oversight dashboards from scratch using internal and external data sources
- Deliver executive-level insight through monthly risk reports for the Group CRO and Board
- Own data quality in strategic risk reports, managing issues and enhancements
- Conduct thematic risk deep-dives on market developments and geopolitical events
- Perform risk oversight reviews with first-line teams to provide actionable insights
- Streamline processes, automate tasks, and improve usability of risk frameworks
- Create and maintain user-facing documentation, training, and process guidance for risk frameworks
- Tackle ad-hoc tasks to support frameworks, systems, and projects
- Prepare materials for risk committees and contribute to cross-functional risk initiatives
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic and external drivers and their impact on financial services
- Experience or degree in economics or finance with relevant industry experience
- Ability to track external economic signals (rates, inflation, consumer credit dynamics) and translate into risk insights
- Proficient in dataset manipulation and building macro monitoring dashboards (Google Sheets/Excel, G-Suite)
- Ability to distill complex quantitative narratives into clear written and verbal insights for senior stakeholders
- Resilient, fast-paced, and able to operate in an evolving environment
- Team player capable of collaborating across three lines of defense and driving alignment
