Hybrid working: 2 days a week in the Manchester office. Tech stack: AWS, Java, Typescript, Vue.js (backend‑leaning). Every day we push beyond expectations to help millions of people save money. Our developers build and maintain large distributed systems, creating blazing‑fast and reliable experiences. They work collaboratively in full‑stack, multi‑disciplinary squads where every team member is expected to be hands‑on across all stages of development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain serverless Typescript/Node.js services and Java microservices on AWS.
- Own end‑to‑end SDLC, from requirement discussions to automated deployments.
- Write high‑quality, testable code following SOLID principles.
- Drive automated testing (unit, integration, acceptance, E2E, performance) and practice TDD.
- Apply DevOps principles, ship and manage systems using CI/CD pipelines in the cloud.
- Ship value quickly, collaborating through pairing, mobbing and other agile practices.
Qualifications
- Senior‑level or high‑expertise experience as a full‑stack or backend‑leaning engineer.
- Strong experience with Typescript, Node.js, AWS, and Java (or equivalent OOP languages).
- Experience in automated testing and a taste for TDD.
- Good grasp of SOLID design principles and clean‑code practices.
- Hands‑on DevOps experience; CI/CD and cloud infrastructure management.
- Agile development mindset, comfortable in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to interview remotely; initial call with Talent Acquisition, followed by a technical interview comprising Q&A, paired programming, and behavioural questions.
