THE ROLE
We are looking for a Data Product Owner to define, govern and deliver data products across the Monument Banking Platform. This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of product, platform delivery and data governance. You will combine strong product ownership with deep business analysis capability, translating client and regulatory requirements into structured data solutions that are accurate, governed and reusable across multiple banking clients. You will own the lifecycle of core platform data domains and ensure that data across the platform is consumable, reliable and aligned to operational and regulatory needs.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Own and evolve data products across key domains including customer, account, transaction, product and regulatory reporting data.
- Define data product vision, roadmap and measurable KPIs focused on accuracy, completeness, availability and usability.
- Translate client bank and building society requirements into scalable platform data capabilities.
- Lead data discovery workshops and define data mappings, models, transformations, migration requirements and integration interfaces.
- Shape canonical data structures that balance standardisation across clients with necessary extensibility.
- Establish and maintain clear data definitions, ownership, lineage and traceability across platform components.
- Define and embed data quality controls and governance frameworks aligned to regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams on APIs, data flows, integration patterns and platform consistency.
- Manage backlog prioritisation, writing structured user stories and acceptance criteria aligned to client value and regulatory need.
- Validate delivered data solutions through testing, reconciliation and stakeholder sign-off to ensure go-live readiness.
- Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
WE LOOK FOR PEOPLE WITH
- A strong business analysis background with experience operating as a Product Owner or in a data-focused product role.
- Experience defining data requirements, data models and data transformations within complex technology environments.
- Proven delivery of data solutions across banking, fintech or building society platforms.
- Experience supporting system implementations or data migration initiatives.
- A clear understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks and regulatory reporting considerations.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments, managing backlogs and prioritisation.
- The ability to translate between business, delivery and engineering teams in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Practical SQL capability to interrogate data models and validate data quality.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations and platform-based service models.
- You demonstrate structured analytical thinking, strong facilitation skills and a clear focus on value and outcomes.
- You are comfortable managing competing priorities, challenging constructively and engaging confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You combine attention to detail with commercial awareness and a client delivery mindset.
