Finance at Montu is not a back office function. It is right in the middle of a business that is growing fast, doing something genuinely meaningful, and building for the long term. If you want a role where you can see the direct impact of your work and grow alongside the organisation, this one is worth a look.

We are looking for a Management Accountant who wants to be part of building something exciting. Someone who enjoys getting into the details but is equally excited by understanding how a business grows, scales, and succeeds. At Montu, we are transforming patient access to medical cannabis across the UK, and our Finance team plays a critical role in making that happen.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who wants more than just a traditional accounting role. You'll have the opportunity to get involved in all things financial control as well as finance team transformation, continuous improvement, decision-making, supporting our European expansion, supporting forecasting and helping shape the future of the Finance function. This is an ideal role for someone who is actively studying towards a professional qualification and wants exposure beyond the usual management accounts cycle.

You will closely with our Financial Controller and have access to our General Manager of Finance. You will gain visibility across the business, and have the opportunity to grow your career as we continue to scale. If you are ambitious, curious, and looking for a role where your ideas are valued just as much as your technical skills, we'd love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

  • Keeping the financial engine of the business running smoothly by applying effective financial controls and being diligent and deadline focussed with a great work ethic.
  • Actively learn and champion the adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Overseeing the effective running of AP, AR and weekly payment runs.
  • Supporting the production of monthly management accounts and helping turn numbers into meaningful business insights.
  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, payment providers, and intercompany balances to ensure accuracy and control.
  • Supporting month‑end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitoring stock, cost of goods sold, and expenses to help us understand and improve business performance.
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting and providing visibility on financial performance and trends.
  • Supporting VAT returns, audits, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate manual tasks, and help us scale more effectively.
  • Partnering with teams across the business to provide financial support, challenge thinking, and drive better decision‑making.

What do you need?

  • Experience in a finance or accounting role with exposure to bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month‑end activities.
  • Part‑qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) and actively studying.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial controls.
  • Confidence working with journals, reconciliations, and management reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work.
  • Strong Google Sheets (Excel) skills and confidence working with finance systems.
  • A naturally curious mindset and a desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment where priorities can change quickly.

What we offer:

  • Generous Leave: 25 days holiday (rising to 27 after year one and 30 after year three) + 8 bank holidays.
  • Pension Matching: Up to 5% employer matching contributions.
  • Flexibility and Wellness: Work‑from‑home options, cycle‑to‑work scheme, private healthcare and more.
  • Growth Opportunities: Collaborate across teams and represent Montu at events, with support to grow your skills and impact.
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave.
