We are looking for a pharmacy technician who is genuinely driven, someone who takes ownership, holds themselves to a high standard, and cares deeply about what happens to patients at the end of that prescription. If that sounds like you, read on.
What is the job? You will be a central, trusted part of our pharmacy operation at our Winnersh site — the person the team relies on to make sure every medicine that leaves our pharmacy is right. That means accuracy checking dispensed medicines, keeping standards high, and actively contributing to a culture where getting it right the first time is non-negotiable. You will not be managed through every task. You will be trusted to lead, to spot problems before they become incidents, and to raise the bar for everyone around you.
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out accuracy checks on dispensed medicines, ensuring full compliance with legal, operational and safety standards
- Taking ownership of the end-to-end dispensing process — not just your part of it
- Maintaining clear, accurate prescription records and escalating discrepancies without hesitation
- Actively mentoring junior colleagues and helping to build a team culture rooted in accountability, safety and quality
- Staying sharp on professional development, best practice and regulatory changes — because you want to, not because you have to
- Working with pace and purpose alongside the wider pharmacy team to ensure every patient gets exactly what they need, when they need it
What do you need?
- Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services (ACT) or equivalent ACT qualification
- Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC — no exceptions
- Solid, proven experience in a pharmacy setting with a strong track record in accuracy checking
- Deep working knowledge of pharmacy regulations, policies and SOPs
- The kind of attention to detail that you simply cannot switch off
- Someone who communicates directly, takes accountability for their actions, and does not wait to be told what to do
- A genuine, proven commitment to patient outcomes — not just patient care on paper, but real passion for what happens to the person at the end of the process
What we offer:
- Full-time contract: 40-hours per week, Monday to Friday with the option of over time on Saturdays
- Generous Leave: 25 days holiday (rising to 27 after year one and 30 after year two) + 8 bank holidays
- Pension Matching: Up to 5% employer matching contributions
- Flexibility and Wellness: Work-from-home options, cycle-to-work scheme, and more
- Growth Opportunities: Collaborate across teams and represent Montu at events, with support to grow your skills and impact
- Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave
