Looking for a pharmacist role where you can focus on clinical checking without being tied to a physical pharmacy? We are looking for a GPhC registered Pharmacist to join Montu UK on a fully remote, fixed-term contract, supporting the clinical checking of prescriptions for our growing patient community.

This is a focused, high-volume role for someone who enjoys working accurately at pace, is confident making clinical decisions and is comfortable working independently in a digital environment. You will play an important part in keeping prescriptions moving safely and efficiently, identifying anything that needs further intervention and working with our wider pharmacy and clinical teams to resolve issues quickly.

If you are an experienced pharmacist looking for a fully remote opportunity where you can use your clinical expertise and make a genuine difference to the patient journey, we would love to hear from you.

What is the job?

Behind every prescription we dispense is a clinical check that helps ensure our patients receive their medication safely, accurately and without unnecessary delay. As Montu continues to grow, we are looking for a Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team on a fully remote, fixed-term basis, focusing on the clinical checking of prescriptions through our online pharmacy platform.

This is a high-volume role where you will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions for clinical appropriateness and accuracy, identifying anything that requires intervention and working closely with our pharmacy and clinical teams to resolve issues quickly. You will need to be confident working independently, comfortable working to clear productivity and quality expectations and able to maintain excellent clinical standards while managing a consistent volume of prescriptions.

This is a great opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys focused clinical work, works well in a fast-moving digital environment and wants to play an important part in keeping our patients' treatment moving safely and efficiently.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be responsible for clinically checking prescriptions through Montu's online pharmacy system, ensuring they meet professional, clinical and regulatory requirements before progressing through the dispensing process.
  • Clinically check prescriptions accurately and efficiently using our online pharmacy platform.
  • Ensure prescriptions are reviewed and progressed within agreed SLAs and turnaround times.
  • Maintain consistent checking volumes without compromising clinical accuracy or patient safety.
  • Identify prescriptions that cannot pass clinical check and ensure the appropriate action is taken.
  • Record accurate information relating to interventions, rejected prescriptions, reasons for rejection and actions taken.
  • Work remotely with pharmacy and clinical colleagues to resolve prescription queries and discrepancies.
  • Escalate clinical or operational concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Identify recurring issues, bottlenecks or process gaps and raise these with the relevant teams.
  • Support the timely resolution of issues to minimise delays for patients.
  • Work in accordance with Montu's SOPs, policies, clinical governance framework and professional standards.
  • Adapt to evolving systems, processes and workflows as our pharmacy continues to grow.

Working in a high-volume environment

Our pharmacy supports a large and growing number of patients, so being able to work accurately at pace is important. You will work to clear expectations around both productivity and quality, including agreed clinical checking volumes and turnaround times. Targets will take into account prescription complexity and the agreed operating model, but patient safety and clinical accuracy must always come first.

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified Pharmacist registered with the GPhC.
  • Has strong clinical judgement and excellent attention to detail.
  • Can work confidently and independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Is comfortable working within a high-volume pharmacy operation.
  • Can work to defined targets, SLAs and performance measures.
  • Is confident using digital pharmacy systems and technology.
  • Communicates clearly and works effectively with colleagues remotely.
  • Can identify problems and take a proactive approach to resolving them.
  • Adapts quickly to changes in processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining quality and patient safety while working efficiently.
  • Experience within a digital, online, high-volume or specialist pharmacy environment would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

What does success look like?

  • Maintaining consistently high clinical checking standards.
  • Completing prescription checks within agreed turnaround times.
  • Identifying and resolving issues before they cause unnecessary delays.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of clinical interventions.
  • Working effectively with our wider pharmacy and clinical teams.
  • Helping us identify opportunities to improve our processes as we continue to scale.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • 25 days holiday, rising to 37 days after one year, rising to 30 days after year 3 plus bank holidays.
  • 5% matched pension.
  • Private Health Care.
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity.
  • Cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Opportunities for learning, development and career progression.
