We are looking for a Pharmaceutical Product Quality Officer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of product safety, regulatory compliance, and patient care at Montu Pharmacy. This is not just another QA role—you will lead quality complaint management, drive service improvements, and work with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance our quality assurance framework.

You will be a key player in ensuring every product dispensed meets UK regulatory and safety standards, while also identifying and implementing improvements in processes, training, and patient safety initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure all Cannabis-Based Products for Medicinal use (CBPMs) comply with MHRA, Home Office, and GPhC regulations
Maintain compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP)
Conduct routine checks on product quality, batch integrity, and storage conditions
Support internal audits and drive continuous improvements in assurance frameworks
Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
Collaborate with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure best-in-class quality standards

Quality Complaints Management

Act as the first point of contact for product quality complaints from patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams
Investigate complaints, working closely with manufacturers and regulatory authorities where needed
Maintain a complaints log and ensure timely resolution with root cause analysis
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance product quality and patient safety
Ensure all relevant complaints are reported to ADR and MHRA

Service Development & Improvement

Identify areas for improvement in product handling, dispensing, and patient support
Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and efficiency
Provide training and guidance to pharmacy staff on quality standards
️ Oversee risk management, internal controls, and financial oversight

Supplier & Stock Management

Work with suppliers to ensure product consistency, safety, and traceability
Monitor stock quality, expiry dates, and handling procedures to minimise risks
️ Support the pharmacovigilance process by reporting adverse reactions and product defects

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced QA Professional: Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or pharmacy operations

  • Strong Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of MHRA, GPhC, NHS England, and Home Office regulations related to CBPMs

  • Audit & Risk Management: Proven experience in internal audits, quality complaints handling, and risk assessment

  • Process & Compliance Champion: Strong background in GDP, GPP, SOPs, and pharmacovigilance

  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Ability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive process improvements

  • Communication & Leadership: Ability to collaborate across teams, train staff, and lead assurance activities

  • Tech-Savvy: High level of IT proficiency, including experience with electronic health records
