- Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on day‑to‑day commercial, contractual and regulatory issues, escalating and seeking guidance from senior legal colleagues where appropriate.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable UK laws and regulations relevant to Montu UK’s operations, including general contract law, consumer law, advertising and marketing rules, healthcare and pharmacy frameworks, and data protection requirements in collaboration with privacy specialists.
- Support cross‑functional projects (for example, new service providers, digital platform enhancements or partnerships) by identifying legal risks early and proposing solutions that are both commercially sensible and legally compliant.
- Assist with training non‑legal colleagues on key legal topics, such as contracting fundamentals, confidentiality, marketing claims and basic regulatory requirements relevant to their roles.
- Implementation of legal process efficiencies including leading projects for implementation of systems and processes e.g. contract templates, contract repositories, playbooks, contract lifecycle management; contract approvals and signature; and use of AI tools for research or drafting.
Knowledge, skills & experience
- UK‑qualified lawyer (solicitor or CILEX) with approximately 1–3 years’ PQE, gained in private practice and/or in‑house, with demonstrable experience of commercial contracts.
- Strong academic background and sound grounding in core contract law principles, with excellent drafting, negotiation and written communication skills.
- Experience working on a mix of commercial agreements in a fast‑paced, commercial environment; prior exposure to healthcare, life sciences, digital health, pharmacy or other regulated sectors is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters concurrently, prioritise effectively and deliver high‑quality work within agreed timelines in a high‑growth, mission‑driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with confidence to engage with stakeholders at different levels of seniority, build trusted relationships and communicate legal issues in clear, accessible language.
