We are working with a leading international law firm to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager into one of its most established and strategically important sectors. This is a high-profile role with overall responsibility for business and client development across a market-leading Insurance practice and the wider firmwide Insurance sector. The position combines strategy, leadership, and hands-on delivery, and offers genuine influence at Partner and senior leadership level.
The role will be working closely with Partners, sector leaders and senior stakeholders. You will lead the development and execution of a forward-looking BD and client development strategy, aligned to firmwide priorities and focused on sustainable, profitable growth.
Responsibilities- Leading business and client development strategy for a major sector and practice group
- Acting as a trusted adviser to Partners and senior leadership on growth, targeting and client development
- Driving key account programmes, cross-selling initiatives and strategic pursuits
- Using data, market intelligence and client insight to inform pipeline development and commercial decisions
- Overseeing strategic pitches, proposals and high-impact BD initiatives
- Playing an active role in client listening and selected client relationships
- Working closely with international colleagues and external network firms to support global initiatives
- Leading, developing and motivating a well-established BD and client development team
This is a broad, end-to-end role with real autonomy and visibility, suited to someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with execution.
