Job Opportunity: Consultant Property Lawyer Are you a skilled property lawyer with a passion for renewable energy? We’re looking for a Consultant Property Lawyer to join a prominent energy business, providing legal services across property management and development to support strategic growth in solar and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) projects. About the Role: In this role, you’ll be working with various teams—including Estates, Construction & Development, and Operations—to manage land rights and ensure the smooth execution of solar and BESS projects. You’ll also provide property legal support on M&A transactions, advising on due diligence and handling end-of-life asset decommissioning. Key Requirements: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with around 5 years PQE Strong expertise in commercial property law, especially leasehold matters In-house experience in the renewable energy sector or private practice experience with renewable energy clients Exceptional drafting skills, attention to detail, and commercial awareness Ability to work independently and proactively manage workload, while effectively collaborating within a team Key Responsibilities: Draft, negotiate, and complete a wide range of property documents (leases, licences, transfer documents, etc.) Provide legal support for cross-functional teams on M&A due diligence Advise on asset handover and decommissioning processes Assist in developing legal policies, procedures, and standard form contracts Location: Hybrid role with flexibility; ideally 1–2 days per week in Northampton HQ for the first few weeks.
