Payments / Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer - 12 month contract
London / Belfast / Dublin
We are working with a leading global investment bank looking to appoint an experienced Payments / Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer for a 12-month contract within its legal team.
This is a commercially focused role supporting a global Payments and Transaction Banking business, with particular emphasis on UK and European products, regulation and new product initiatives.
The role will include:
- Providing legal and regulatory advice across a range of payments and cash management products and services
- Advising on UK and EU payments and financial services regulation
- Supporting new product development, business initiatives and client solutions
- Working closely with Product, Compliance, Risk and other control functions on legal and regulatory matters
- Identifying and advising on product and regulatory risk
- Providing commercially practical advice on the application of law, regulation and internal policy
- Working with legal colleagues and business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
- Approximately 3-8 years' PQE / relevant experience
- Experience within banking or financial services, gained in-house, within private practice and/or a regulatory environment
- Strong knowledge of payments, cash management or transaction banking
- Good knowledge of UK and European financial services regulation, particularly payments regulation such as PSD/PSD2
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders across international and cross-functional teams
- A commercial approach and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice in a fast-paced environment
This would be particularly well suited to a payments lawyer, financial services regulatory lawyer or banking lawyer with strong payments experience looking to join a sophisticated international platform on a substantial contract.
