An outstanding international law firm with a top-tier London presence is seeking a Talent Development Manager to play a pivotal role within one of its core global practice groups, with scope to support an additional practice area over time. This is a genuinely high-impact role with significant partner engagement and visibility.

The person joining will be embedded within the practice, working closely with partners, associates and trainees, and will be central to shaping how lawyers are developed, supported and progressed at every stage of their careers. It’s a role that sits at the intersection of people, performance and practice, and one that is deeply valued by the partnership.

The focus is on truly understanding the work, the individuals, and the flow of matters within the group, ensuring teams are resourced thoughtfully, workloads are balanced intelligently, and development is deliberate rather than reactive. You’ll be involved in everything from allocation and utilisation, to performance reviews, career conversations, training strategy and induction, as well as supporting recruitment, inclusion initiatives and broader talent projects.

There is also meaningful interaction with colleagues internationally, particularly in the US, making this a role with real global exposure. The firm is known for the quality and complexity of its work, its collaborative culture, and its long-term investment in its people. This position reflects that ethos: it is trusted, influential, and designed to make a tangible difference.

It would suit someone with a background as a practising lawyer (ideally transactional) who has gravitated towards development, mentoring, and the bigger picture of how teams thrive. Strong judgement, credibility with partners, emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in people are just as important as technical experience.

This is not a “back office” role. It’s a career-defining opportunity within an exceptional environment, with real scope to shape, influence and grow.
