A leading global asset manager is looking to hire a Legal Counsel into its London-based legal team, supporting its growing European funds business.
The role will focus on the establishment, structuring and ongoing operation of European investment funds and investor separate accounts, alongside related corporate and regulatory matters. You will work closely with investment, product and distribution teams and take a lead role on new fund launches and broader strategic projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising on European fund structures across Luxembourg, Ireland and the UK, including relevant regulatory considerations.
- Leading on new fund launches, including drafting and negotiating fund documentation and supporting investor discussions.
- Reviewing and negotiating offering documents, LPAs, side letters and other fund documentation.
- Advising across a range of asset classes, including private credit, real estate, portfolio finance and public fixed income.
- Working closely with external counsel and internal stakeholders on complex legal and regulatory matters.
- Supporting distribution and marketing queries across institutional and wealth channels.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with approximately 3โ6 yearsโ PQE and strong fund formation (private funds) experience gained in private practice and/or in-house. A good understanding of European fund structures and regulations, including AIFMD and UCITS would be ideal but not essential, alongside experience drafting and negotiating core fund documentation.
This is a broad funds role within an established legal function, offering strong exposure to the wider investment management business and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders.
