A prestigious private bank is seeking an experienced, credit-savvy professional to join their London team in a Senior Assistant Relationship Manager capacity. This role is designed for a high-performer ready to take a lead support role for a high-net-worth (HNW) book with a specific focus on complex credit structures and mortgage lending. You will act as the primary technical and relationship anchor for a Client Relationship Officer, managing a sophisticated pipeline of UK and International clients within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidates MUST have Private Banking experience and strong credit and lending experience.
Key Responsibilities of the Private Banking Assistant include:- Advanced Credit & Mortgage Facilitation: Take the lead on the end-to-end administration of residential real estate lending. This includes coordinating mortgage applications, liaising with credit risk teams, and ensuring all lending documentation is meticulously executed.
- Complex Onboarding & Enhanced Due Diligence: Own the full KYC/AML lifecycle for high-complexity clients. You will perform deep-dive analysis on Source of Wealth (SoW) and Source of Funds (SoF), ensuring seamless submission and approval for high-value prospects.
- Senior Investment Support: Manage the production of mandatory suitability reports and investor profile reviews. You will ensure all files remain compliant with MiFID II and internal standards, specifically regarding discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios.
- Strategic Client Engagement: Act as a senior point of contact for clients, resolving complex inquiries regarding FX trading, credit facilities, and payments independently before escalation.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Navigate internal relationships across Operations, Credit Risk, and Compliance to streamline the onboarding of debt-heavy structures and offshore entities.
- Regulatory Stewardship: Maintain absolute adherence to the Code of Conduct, AML protocols, and Cross-Border regulations, acting as a mentor to more junior team members on compliance best practices.
- Candidates must have experience in a private banking client service or assistant RM role.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in credit and lending processes (specifically mortgages) is essential for this senior-level position.
- Qualifications: Candidates should ideally be CeMAP qualified (essential for mortgage focus) and IAD (Investment Advice Diploma) qualified.
