Are you a mortgages professional looking to take the next step within a specialist, broker-facing lending team? Due to continued growth, we are recruiting on behalf of an established London-based private bank looking for an Intermediary Lending Assistant to join their Intermediary Lending team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mortgages background to support the end-to-end progression of cases submitted through brokers and intermediaries, working closely with underwriters, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver an outstanding standard of service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide vital support to the Intermediary Lending team, helping to move mortgage cases smoothly from application through to offer and completion.
- Support the administration and progression of mortgage applications submitted via brokers and intermediaries, ensuring cases move efficiently through each stage.
- Act as a key point of contact for brokers and intermediaries, handling queries and providing timely, professional updates on the status of their cases.
- Review and check incoming documentation, accurately input application data, and package cases ready for underwriting review.
- Liaise between brokers, underwriters, and internal teams to resolve outstanding requirements and keep cases progressing within agreed timeframes.
- Help the team meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround targets within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on the bank’s lending systems and CRM in line with internal procedures.
- Ensure all activity is carried out in line with regulatory requirements and the bank’s lending criteria and policies.
Requirements:
- We are seeking an organised and detail-focused candidate who combines strong mortgages knowledge with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience within mortgages is essential, with a sound understanding of the mortgage application process from submission through to completion.
- Prior experience within an intermediary, broker-facing, or specialist lending environment is highly desirable.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload accurately and to deadline.
- Confident, professional communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with brokers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Outlook) and confidence using lending or CRM systems.
- CeMAP qualification, or active progress towards it, would be advantageous though is not essential.
