Up to £70,000 per annum 12 month FTC (Maternity Cover) Hybrid Working available (4 days in the office, 1 day WFH). We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international bank seeking a high‑calibre Financial/Regulatory Accountant to join their London-based Finance team. This is a pivotal 12-month maternity cover role, offering an experienced professional the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio across management accounting, tax, and multi‑jurisdictional regulatory reporting. Reporting directly to the Financial Control Manager, you will support all core reporting functions, ensuring the bank remains compliant with UK and international standards. You will play a key role in the month‑end close process and contribute to high‑priority system implementation projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Regulatory Accountant:
- Reporting: Prepare management accounts, Head Office reporting, and UK regulatory submissions (PRA and BOE).
- Financial Control: Lead monthly balance sheet substantiation, coordinate reconciliations, and provide detailed MI explaining key movements.
- Analysis: Perform analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheets, explaining trends against budgets and prior periods.
- Tax & Budgeting: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax computations (VAT, Corporation Tax, BBSI) and assist in the budgeting/forecasting process.
- Change Management: Contribute to efficiency initiatives, including a GL upgrade and the implementation of new regulatory reporting and P2P systems.
Requirements for the successful Regulatory Accountant:
- Prior banking experience is essential.
- Strong financial control background and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Qualifications: Candidates must be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Expertise: Solid experience in financial and management reporting within the banking sector.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and numeracy skills are mandatory. Knowledge of Power BI is highly advantageous.
