Hybrid working available! Due to exciting growth and expansion, a highly prestigious financial services company is seeking to hire a Cheque Clearing Officer to join their Operations team. You will be responsible for processing a high volume of customer transactions, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will be expected to provide an efficient and intuitive service to all customers, whilst managing and processing inward and outward cheque/image clearing. We are seeking hardworking, self-motivated and friendly candidates with previous Clearing experience.

Duties of the Clearing Officer include:

  • Processing image clearing in line with procedures, including contacting customers and stakeholders for confirmation of payment instructions.
  • Manage Inward and Outward Unpaid cheque process.
  • Handle incoming Remittances for customers.
  • Deal with the receipt/collection/negotiation of foreign cheques.
  • Producing Copy statements upon customer request.
  • Process Dollar and Euro clearing.
  • Producing weekly reconciliation of internal accounts for stakeholders.

Requirements for the successful Clearing Officer:

  • Banking experience is essential, with knowledge of remitting CHAPS, SWIFT and reconciliations.
  • Clearing subject matter expert, with relevant professional background.
  • Candidates must be comfortable liaising with clients and stakeholders, and possess a friendly and professional customer service manner.
