The Head of Marketing and Sales reports to the Managing Director and leads the commercial strategy across the Montpeliers Group portfolio. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth through strong marketing activity, proactive sales strategy, and effective promotion of the group’s venues and experiences. The role manages the sales and marketing team and oversees all promotional, digital, and commercial activity across the group. This includes collaboration with digital marketing partners, designers, social media managers, PR agencies, and venue teams to ensure campaigns and initiatives deliver measurable results.

The position focuses on increasing bookings, private dining, events, corporate business, group reservations, and hotel revenue where applicable. The role also ensures that all marketing campaigns support clear commercial outcomes across the portfolio. The Head of Marketing and Sales will maintain existing campaigns while developing new initiatives that attract both loyal guests and new audiences. The role also oversees all venue marketing collateral including signage, in venue marketing materials, menus, and digital assets.

Regular reporting and performance tracking are required to ensure that revenue targets, booking levels, and brand objectives are achieved. The role works closely with operations and venue leadership teams to ensure that sales and marketing activity supports day to day business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the sales and marketing team. Provide structure, guidance, and coaching to ensure clear delivery of revenue and brand objectives.
  • Ensure the sales and marketing department works closely with operations, finance, and senior leadership to support the wider goals of the business.
  • Create and deliver a clear sales strategy that drives private events, group dining, corporate bookings, and hotel revenue where applicable.
  • Build strong relationships with key corporate clients, event organisers, concierges, and local businesses to generate new opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across the group including partnerships, collaborations, and events.
  • Deliver all responsibilities to a high professional standard while supporting the continued growth and reputation of the business.
Brand and Marketing
  • Deliver marketing campaigns with key partners to maximise brand exposure and awareness across the group’s venues.
  • Develop and manage marketing partnerships that drive revenue and expand the reach of the venues to new audiences and demographics.
  • Lead the growth of social media channels by building strong organic audiences and producing engaging and consistent content across the group’s brands.
  • Ensure the department delivers within agreed sales and marketing budgets.
  • Execute the marketing strategy in line with business objectives and commercial targets.
  • Create and produce marketing material in line with marketing plans including digital campaigns and printed collateral.
  • Develop creative initiatives across the group that strengthen brand identity and drive guest engagement.
  • Monitor competitor activity within Edinburgh and the wider hospitality market.
  • Conduct research and market analysis where required to support business decisions.
  • Ensure all websites remain functional, updated, and optimised with strong SEO support.
  • Proofread and support the creation of copy across marketing materials.
  • Organise photoshoots and maintain a strong library of visual assets. Support venues in creating content where required.
  • Maximise marketing opportunities across all venues within the group.
  • Ensure menus and all marketing collateral, both print and digital, remain accurate and are delivered within required timelines.
  • Develop and implement a structured sales plan for the group focused on corporate business, private events, celebrations, and group bookings.
  • Drive revenue from private dining rooms, event spaces, and group reservations across the portfolio.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of corporate and event clients. Maintain regular contact with key partners and decision makers.
  • Work closely with venue management teams to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Track and report on sales performance including enquiry levels, conversion rates, and revenue generated.
  • Identify opportunities to grow midweek trade, daytime business, and off-peak bookings.
  • Support venues with pricing strategies, packages, and promotional offers that drive bookings and revenue.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales, marketing, or commercial roles, ideally within hospitality or lifestyle sectors
  • Strong understanding of event sales, corporate bookings, and revenue generation within hospitality
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and commercial priorities
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media platforms, website management, and CRM systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
  • Commercially focused with the ability to identify opportunities that drive revenue growth
  • Confident representing and promoting the company both internally and externally
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
