We have an exciting opportunity for two Marketing Managers to join the team and lead the marketing strategy and campaign delivery across Food, Drink & Hospitality Week (FDHW), the largest event series within Montgomery Group. We are looking for experienced exhibition marketers operating at Marketing Manager level, with strong campaign management, stakeholder management and people management experience.
Food, Drink & Hospitality Week brings together seven market‑leading events serving the food, drink, hospitality and foodservice sectors, attracting thousands of visitors and exhibitors from across the UK and internationally.
Reporting into the FDHW Portfolio Marketing Manager, the role will be responsible for driving high‑quality visitor attendance and exhibitor ROI through effective multi‑channel marketing campaigns across email, website, social media, PPC, partnerships and content. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth of their portfolio, working closely with internal teams, external partners and the wider industry to deliver commercially successful campaigns and an outstanding event experience. With multiple events taking place throughout the year, strong team collaboration and organisation are a key part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, implement & monitor marketing communication activities to ensure deadlines are met within budget and in‑line with the event marketing goals.
- Achieve visitor acquisition targets for the event and brand.
- Work closely with the digital agency to maximise customer acquisition and lead generation through paid search, display and paid social campaigns.
- Manage and support junior members of the marketing team, helping develop skills, confidence and campaign delivery.
- Be responsible for evaluating campaigns and making future recommendations.
- Support website tracking to improve reporting and analysis abilities.
- Manage and optimise website content and user journeys to support visitor acquisition and conversion.
- Act as brand champion, ensuring adoption of best practice.
- Track industry and marketing developments, reporting findings to all stakeholders.
- Track and report regularly on campaign performance across digital, social, PPC/SEO, partnerships and visitor acquisition activity, identifying successes and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage and track agreed marketing spend for the brands.
- Maintain clear oversight of all campaign activity and delivery stages to ensure smooth and effective execution.
- Work closely with the Event Managers and sales team to support exhibitor acquisition, retention and lead generation opportunities.
- Use campaign performance, audience insights and market data to continuously optimise marketing activity and drive commercial results.
- Work with Data Team to optimise the health and performance of both visitor and exhibitor databases, including new data builds, warm up campaigns and growth areas.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous B2B exhibition or event marketing experience is essential.
- A strong understanding of digital systems, best practices, and measurement tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of how to use and write copy for digital platforms.
- Good experience of using digital platforms to build emails, website pages etc.
- Ability to deliver quality work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.
- Capable of managing a full campaign from start to finish.
- Confident in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines and accommodating rapid changes.
- Ability to multitask numerous projects throughout the event cycle.
- A team player that is happy to collaborate on projects with others.
- Great time management and organisational skills.
- Strong marketing experience working on a multifaceted campaign covering all elements of the marketing mix.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign data and turn insights into actionable recommendations.
- Confident communicator in all mediums – written, face‑to‑face & on the phone.
- Keen eye for detail and strong copywriting skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills required.
- Creatively minded with a passion for discovering new ways to approach the marketing requirements of the events.
