A rare opportunity for a commercially driven Event Manager to take responsibility for Montgomery Group's newest launch, Hospitality Tech 360. The role will oversee the commercial delivery, planning and execution of the latest event in the Food Drink and Hospitality Week portfolio, the UK's biggest celebration of industry innovation. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, have a keen desire to develop the event in partnership with the community it serves and lead on driving the future strategy and growth of the event.
The Event Manager will have the freedom to autonomously drive growth and direction, whilst delivering on all commercial elements and liaising with the event team across all departments in the day to day running of the event.
Food Drink & Hospitality Week is a compilation of focused business events dedicated to gathering the industry together in person and throughout the year. We provide a platform above and beyond the traditional exhibition for suppliers looking to globally grow and develop their business in one of the largest and innovative markets, all underpinned by excellent networking opportunities and a world class content programme.
Role Profile
- Event Strategy, Planning & Delivery: Full event management responsibility, strategy creation and execution, P&L delivery, budget and floorplan management.
- Commercial, Stakeholder & Team Management: Developing strategy for a comprehensive commercial campaign to achieve revenue and commercial goals. Commercial management of key accounts, partners, stakeholders, and trade associations. Identify opportunities to enhance value for exhibitors, sponsors and partners. Attend client meetings with a focus on revenue generation and product growth. Day to day management of the event team, both direct reports and indirect management of centralised stakeholders (matrix management). Build, develop and grow key partnerships, both commercial and non-commercial which drive revenue and community engagement.
- Marketing, Audience & Content Development: Working closely with the marketing department to sign off strategic marketing plans. Working closely with content team to sign off content plan and execution. Managing and developing dedicated projects to drive visitor attendance.
- Operational Delivery: Collaborate with the operations team on floorplans and ensure the event is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
- Market Immersion: Attending industry events, association & media partner events, competitor trade shows etc to build network of contacts and gain understanding of the market.
- Post Event: Lead post event evaluation, including financial performance and stakeholder feedback. Capture insights and learning to inform future editions. Present clear, thoughtful recommendations for improvement and growth.

Competencies: 5+ years of event industry experience managing event sales/marketing campaigns or 2 years' Event Manager experience (strategy, P&L, campaign execution, stakeholder management). Keen interest in the hospitality sector. An innovator looking at the future, industry trends and visitor/exhibitor needs. Outstanding motivational skills to develop team members. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. A confident communicator in all mediums written, face-to-face & telephone. Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances. Strong negotiation skills and budget management expertise. Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
