Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs building cleaning, facilities, and grounds maintenance work in schools and administrative buildings. This is an entry-level position in the building service staff. Employees receive on-the-job training in manual skills, use of cleaning and grounds tools and equipment, and supplies to clean interiors and maintain grounds.

The work is repetitive, requires physical effort, and involves some heavy lifting and moving furniture and equipment. Employees are considered emergency personnel and must report to work during inclement weather.

Qualifications:

• Completion of the ninth grade required; High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in cleaning buildings and grounds preferred.
• Ability to learn proper operation and maintenance of custodial and grounds care equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures.
