About the Role

As a Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-profile, international transactions across the energy, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors. You will lead cross-border deal teams, collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, and mentor junior lawyers. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex, cutting-edge projects that can take years to put together and have a lasting global impact.

Your work will span diverse and high-stakes projects, including power purchase agreements, project development, joint ventures, and acquisition agreements. You will also engage with geopolitical considerations, working across time zones and jurisdictions to deliver seamless legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Managing cross-border transactions and coordinating with international offices to provide integrated legal services.
  • Acting as the primary client contact on major projects, offering strategic advice and addressing complex legal and commercial issues.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior associates and trainees, providing guidance on technical and transactional matters.
  • Conducting due diligence exercises, analysing agreements, and summarising transactional risks for clients.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, building relationships with clients, and identifying growth opportunities for the team.
  • Driving knowledge sharing within the team and delivering sector-focused insights both internally and externally.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ PQE with substantial experience in project development and finance transactions.
  • A proven track record of handling complex commercial contracts, including power purchase agreements, joint ventures, and acquisition agreements.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and inspire junior team members.
  • Advanced understanding of risks and issues involved in cross-border transactions, including pricing and commercial aspects of contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused and commercially driven mindset.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding results within tight deadlines.
  • International experience and/or additional language skills (preferred but not essential).
  • A proactive, resourceful, and collaborative approach to working in a global, fast-paced environment.
