A prestigious international law firm with a market-leading Marine & Transportation practice is seeking a Shipping Associate (1-5 PQE) to join its London office. This firm is trusted by shipowners, charterers, P&I clubs, insurers, and commodity traders to handle complex disputes and transactions across the global shipping sector.
The Role
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of wet and dry shipping matters, including:
- Charterparty and cargo claims
- Ship arrests and jurisdictional disputes
- Maritime casualties and General Average
- Marine insurance disputes
- Yacht and superyacht claims
- Fine art, specie, and misappropriation cases
- Shipbuilding, sale of goods, and commodity disputes
Who We’re Looking For
- 1-5 years’ PQE in shipping law from a well-regarded City or regional firm
- Strong technical ability, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach
- Experience handling wet or dry shipping matters (both would be advantageous)
- Excellent research, drafting, and advocacy skills
- Common law-qualified lawyers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply – visa sponsorship is available
