Great Lakes Montessori is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Montessori trained toddler teacher. This position is ideal for both a seasoned teacher or a new graduate who is looking to develop their teaching experience in a Montessori setting.
To be considered for the position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Toddler Montessori Diploma (AMI/MACTE)
- Minimum one year experience working in a Montessori setting is preferred
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening and Criminal Check
- Up to date Immunizations Records
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
- Display strong leadership and communication skills (oral and written)
- Be able to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional, mature, warm, patient and nurturing
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications
- Strong computer skills (must be comfortable with Microsoft Office)
Job Responsibilities:
- To plan and implement an effective Montessori program for children within a warm, safe and nurturing learning environment
- To supervise the children at all times while allowing them to be independent
- Responsible for maintaining a prepared environment
- Prepare monthly classroom planning and newsletter
- Responsible for diaper changing and/or assisting with toileting
- To communicate with parents on a daily basis in an open and supportive manner
- To maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
