This position requires a person who possesses love, patience, and respect for others. The Supervisor/Principal must be able to encourage the staff to be independent and model for them appropriate manners and behaviours. She/he will support the staff in all activities relating to programming, policies, and procedures of the day-to-day operations of the school by performing the following duties:
- Support and Resources: Provide the employees of Smarty Pants Montessori with the tools and equipment necessary to fulfil their responsibilities.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and coworkers.
- Professional Development: Maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education and attend professional development courses and workshops.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise, guide, and evaluate teachers on student interaction and behaviour management practices.
- Learning Environment: Provide a positive learning environment and atmosphere for all children.
- Classroom Planning: Assist in planning classroom activities.
- Enrollment Management: Conduct all school tours, maintain stability with student enrollment, and handle all school inquiries.
- Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative duties, including monthly reports, fee logs, etc.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow and implement rules and regulations in the Day Nurseries Act, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Education.
- Participation: Participate in all open houses and school programs.
- Policy Adherence: Adhere to company and safety policies and procedures.
- Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Health and Safety: Follow and implement health and safety protocols through the use of various tools, including daily observation forms, sanitary practices forms, medication forms, and environmental assessment tools.
- Policy Knowledge: Maintain working knowledge of school routines and policies.
- Child Development: Have thorough knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with adults/parents in all situations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Mandatory Requirements
- Education: A recognized MACTE-approved Montessori Diploma or Certificate and/or an ECE Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood or related areas. If you possess only an ECE Diploma or Degree, you must be registered with the College of ECE or hold the designation of RECE before the commencement of employment.
- Certifications: Valid First Aid and CPR certification, updated immunization, current TB screening, and a clear Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector).
