About the school

Our client operates an exceedingly rated preparatory independent school (Ages 3-8). We seek an outstanding Kindergarten Teacher (qualified in primary or early years education) to join the talented team starting at the beginning of Term 3, 2025. Although this is a fixed-term contract for six months, there is a possibility of extension for the right Teacher.

Unique in its delivery of early childhood education, the school emphasises authenticity, relational learning, and hands-on experiences. It has instilled a culture with high expectations of what young children can do, think, and learn. Emphasis is placed on inquiry and creativity as children and teachers work towards educational excellence.

A thorough knowledge of the K-2 curriculum, an excellent understanding of individualised and small-group learning, and the ability to collaborate closely with other staff members are integral.

Learning is about much more than finding out facts. Our client designs experiences for students that lead them towards deep and meaningful understandings, not just information and answers. As a Teacher, you will be firmly committed to providing learning experiences for children that invite them to question, experiment, wonder, and work with materials and ideas in playful ways.

Apart from the benefit of small group sizes, students are offered a variety of extracurricular and enrichment programs. These include music and sports lessons led by specialist teachers, a weekly Chess Club, Mandarin language classes, Code Camp, a martial arts program, and an opportunity to join a Choir for children in Kindergarten, Year 1 & 2.

About you

  • NESA accreditation (Required, please do not apply without this).
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Education (Early Childhood or Primary)
  • Experience of 2+ years is highly desirable; preferably to a Kindergarten year level
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative team situation
  • Have strong English (written and oral) and solid knowledge of the K-2 Curriculum
  • Confidence in your abilities and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Inquiry-based learning knowledge
  • Ability to plan, implement and assess individual learning programs that cater for individual differences and needs (enabling and extending)
  • Ability to work and share in a vibrant school community.
