SUMMARY OF POSITION: Performs therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities. Responds to and provides assistance with cardiopulmonary arrests. Maintains all respiratory equipment. Provides respiratory support to all patients with abnormalities of cardiopulmonary function. Administration and monitoring of all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities within the service's scope of practice.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS: An associate degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy, Bachelor's preferred. Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Program or Certificate of completion from an AMA accredited program. A current NY State Respiratory Therapist License. RRT by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Current BLS by the American Heart Association or Red Cross required, ACLS preferred. Minimum of one year preferred.
