Key Responsibilities
- Direct Transfusion Medicine at the system level, including oversight of blood bank/transfusion services at all Montefiore affiliated hospitals.
- Coordinate services with other laboratory sections and work with medical specialists throughout the medical system in addressing institutional needs.
- Active participation in hospital committees.
- Teach residents and medical students.
- Additional responsibilities commensurate with training, experience, and academic interest, including participation in translational or clinical research.
Qualifications
- Board certified in CP or AP/CP and in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
- Experience in laboratory management in a multi-site health system.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain New York State Certificates of Qualification for Medical Directorship.
- Academic appointment to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine commensurate with credentials and experience.
About Montefiore
Montefiore Medical Center is a university-affiliated health-care system serving the Bronx, Rockland, Orange and Westchester County. Programs include active adult and pediatric Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant as well as solid organ transplant (Heart, Lung, Liver, Kidney and Pancreas). Transfusion Medicine provides medical oversight of all apheresis and stem cell/cell therapy collections.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $400,000β475,000.
- Opportunity to supplement income through short and overnight call, generous weekend call compensation and productivity incentives.
