Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of a radiologist, performs Special Procedure as well as other mammography examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
- Maintain all necessary records logging patient data in log book and perform tasks related to MQSA.
- Review tech pair review of images.
- In conjunction with clerical schedulers and technologists, maintain a constant workflow.
- Assist physician during biopsy procedures as needed.
- Maintain supplies pertaining to Mammography.
- Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and image-guided treatment.
- Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
- Obtain mammographic analog/digital images as well as other images, including the proper setting of exposure factors and imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist.
- Train other associates and students in special procedures.
The shift for this position varies: 8:00-4:30pm including Saturdays, 8:30-5pm including Saturdays.
Education And Requirements:
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT; specific to Mammography.
- Licensed by the State of New York; required.
- Associate's Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
- 2 years experience preferred.
