Pediatric anesthesiologists are fully integrated into this framework, working with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.

Position Overview: Due to growth and needs of services in the communities, we are seeking 2‑3 Board Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologists at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center (CHAM), Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Our Pediatric Anesthesiology team of 5 Board Certified physicians provide anesthetic management to over 5,500 pediatric surgical cases annually as well as management for non‑operative services. Must be proficient in all neonatal, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, and adult patients. You will also be expected to provide anesthesia service to adult patients approximately 35% of the time. Operative and non‑operative anesthesia locations include radiology, endoscopy, cath lab. There is some CRNA supervision (Occasionally 1‑2). Pager call after completion of daytime clinical duties. 1‑2 weekday pager calls/week and 1 weekend/month for now.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide anesthetic management for pediatric surgical cases, including routine and complex operations (craniofacial reconstruction, neurosurgery, organ transplantation).
  • Manage anesthesia for non‑operative services such as cardiac catheterizations, diagnostic imaging, neurological interventional radiology, vascular and interventional radiology, gastrointestinal endoscopy, bronchoscopy and hematologic/oncologic procedures.
  • Care for neonatal and infant patients, premature babies, newborns, children, and adolescents, and adult patients about 35% of the time.
  • Supervise residents, fellows, and CRNAs, and provide acute pain services (patient‑controlled epidural analgesia, perineural catheters, regional nerve blocks).
  • Participate in pager calls (1‑2 weekday calls/week, 1 weekend call/month).

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Anesthesia.
  • NY State Medical License (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficiency in managing neonatal, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, and adult patients.

Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary of $500,000‑650,000, with supplemental income opportunities through additional call responsibilities and productivity incentives. Benefits include LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision, and a 403(b) retirement plan.
