The Montefiore Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Critical Care Anesthesiologist with experience in cardiovascular critical care to support cardiology and cardiac surgery services. The Critical Care Cardiac Anesthesiologist will serve as a key contributor to new cardiac surgery and cardiology service lines, ensuring high-quality, continuity-driven perioperative and critical care for complex cardiovascular patients.
Critical Care Responsibilities:
- Serve as an attending Intensivist in the Cardiothoracic ICU.
- Provide advanced postoperative cardiac critical care, including management of ventilators, vasoactive infusions, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and complex cardiovascular physiology.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with cardiac surgery, cardiology, perfusion, and nursing.
- Support ICU protocol development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Participate in critical care call coverage.
- Provide supervision of CRNAs.
- Support the cardiology service.
- Provide anesthesia care for procedures in the ICU.
Schedule & Practice Structure:
Full-time clinical schedule is 1 week-on, 1 week-off model, 8 AM-4 PM in house followed by pager call. Friday 4 PM-8 AM, Saturday and Sunday 8 AM-noon in house followed by pager call. One week on / one week off rotational model. Call responsibilities can be structured within the on-week schedule.
Compensation & Benefits:
Total compensation: $550,000 annually. Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement plans (403B and 457), occurrence malpractice with tail, and CME time and allowance.
